New Macmillan Wellbeing Centre at Southmead Hospital – looking for your help!
The Centre, opening in mid-July will be the first of its kind in Bristol, bringing advice, support, information and complimentary therapies all under one roof to anyone in the local area living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis.
The Centre will be run on a daily basis by Helen France and a team of volunteers, and as well as support workers to ensure smooth running of this new service, Helen is also looking for volunteer complimentary therapists who could offer an hour or so each week to provide treatments to people with cancer.
Helen is wondering if there’s anyone who may be looking for this kind of opportunity- perhaps to complete training or as a placement opportunity. Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed according to our guidelines. Our brand new centre has two complimentary therapy rooms to work from that will be kitted out with a 2 section treatment couch and reclining, height adjustable treatment chairs.
If you’re able to offer your support and expertise, please contact Helen direct on 0117 323 6283 or firstname.lastname@example.org

BCMB has grown considerably over the years with the introduction of new professional courses, a wider variety of CPD workshops and the ever growing popularity of the introductory workshops. With this growth, the college has grown too big for it’s shared premises at the Alma Vale Centre. In the Autumn, the hunt began for the college’s own premises and now we’ve found the perfect spot!
Our new address is:
Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork
Lower Ground Floor
109 Pembroke Road
Our contact details of 0117 377 1201 and email@example.com will stay the same although our phone line is still in the process of being moved so please contact us by e-mail for the time being.
We have the keys, and we’re working hard to get the college ready. This means that from 1st February 2014 we will be running the majority of our courses and workshops from within our premises. From March 2014, during the week we will also have some of our teaching staff based within the college offering treatments. Please keep an eye on the website for further information if you would like to get booked in for a massage.
With the new premises we hope this will allow the college to expand further, with the opportunity to run mid week courses, offer more student clinic, and explore new professional courses. This is a very exciting time for BCMB, so keep checking our website for further updates.
Merry Christmas to you all from the BCMB.
Like you, we will all be enjoying the festive period. Therefore, the college will be closing on Friday 20th December until Thursday 2nd January. We will try to respond to all bookings and enquiries as soon as we can on our return.
In the past couple of years we have run our Indian Head Massage course from The Fold in Worcester. We’re pleased to announce that in 2014 we will be running it in Bristol.

2/3 June 2014
Assessments: 2/3 August 2014

It was the Bristol Half Marathon last weekend and we were pleased to offer our support to the runners. We received this lovely e-mail of thanks this morning from Tomas at Natural Balance:
“I can not express strongly enough my thanks and admiration for your efforts in securing help for the charity Wellchild at the recent Bristol half marathon.
Our aim is to both help the charities alongside giving students/Therapists experience in events therapy. In your case, we could deliver hands on training in “Sports Massage” and debunk some of the fears and myths related to its practice .
None, of this would be possible, without people such as yourselves, who have the insight to realise that opportunities like this enrich your students understanding of “Massage”. So thank you again and please relay our thanks to all your tutors and to students Sam, Eugeny, Lynn, Marianne,Willow, Josie and ex student Alan.”
It was the Bristol Harbour Festival last weekend so BCMB went along to show our support and offer Bristol a bit of summer massage therapy.
